01 May Celebrating Earth Month in Charlotte
Earth Day may fall on one day, but our board spent the entire month showing up for Charlotte’s environmental community. This Earth Month, we joined the City of Charlotte’s Landscape Management team to pot native plant plugs for an upcoming community giveaway, expanding pollinator habitat across our neighborhoods. We also had the honor of judging EarthShare NC’s Earth Day Volunteer Challenges, where corporate teams rolled up their sleeves for local environmental nonprofits across the city. And we volunteered with Trips for Kids Charlotte, breaking down donated bikes to be rebuilt and put back in the hands of kids who need them most.
We attended the Carolinas Climate Summit with WFAE, joining climate experts, community leaders, and advocates for a full day of sessions on the impact of climate change in the Carolinas and the people working to address it. We participated in the 10th Annual Stop Food Waste Day Celebration at Innovation Barn, a milestone gathering of innovators, chefs, and changemakers building momentum around a better food system, where we were thrilled to celebrate our friend Amy Aussieker, Executive Director of Envision Charlotte, honored as the 2026 Waste Warrior of the Year. We also joined the City of Charlotte for the Green Crown Community event, another meaningful touchpoint in Charlotte’s growing sustainability ecosystem.
This is what showing up looks like, not just in our businesses, but in our community.
